Healthy Vegetarian Sharbat Recipes
Summer time - keep your self cool with naturally cooling healthy variyali (Fennal seed) sharbat.
Ingredients:
- 100 gm variyali (fennel seeds)
- 100 gm Sugar
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 spoon rock salt
- 2 lemon juice
- 2 fresh mint leaves (pudina)
- 1/4 tsp ginger paste
Procedure:
- Over night soak variyali in 4 glasses of water.
- In the morning add pudina and ginger to the mixture and boil it for 2-5 minutes. Allow it to cool.
- Add sugar and grind the mixture in to smooth paste.
- Strain the mixture.
- Store in an air tight container.
- Refrigerate it.
- At the time of serving add 3 table spoon of variyali mixture in a glass. Add ice or chilled water to it. Add salt, rock salt and lemon juice to taste. Mix well and serve variyali sharbat chilled.
Refreshingly cool Amla kismis sharbat
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup coriander seeds
- 1/2 cup Amla pulp (fresh gooseberry pulp)
- 1/2 cup black raisins (black kismis)
- 1/2 cup sugar
Procedure:
- Soak raisins and coriander seeds in water overnight.
- In the morning add sugar to it and make a smooth paste of the mixture. Strain the mixture.
- Strain the goosebeery pulp and extract the juice. Mix the juice with the raisin coriander paste.
- You can store this paste in refrigerator for 3-4 days.
- At the time of serving take 3 table spoon of the paste in a glass add chilled water to the paste. Stir well and serve chilled.
